As the nation gathered for March for Our Lives, celebrities across the nation came out in support. Protestors came out in the fight for stricter gun laws in America, holding up signs as they protested in cities such as New York City, Los Angeles, and Washington, to name a few, and stars lent their support in the movement by holding up signs too or performing onstage. Celebrities who attended included Paul McCartney, George and Amal Clooney, Kim Kardashian West, Miley Cyrus, Lady Gaga, Common, Ariana Grande, Demi Lovato, Sheryl Crow, Jennifer Hudson, Cher, Will Smith, Amy Poehler, Justin Timberlake and many more. They all matched strongly, it was evident they wanted to show their full support.
Paul McCartney marched in New York City, in remembrance of his late friend and Beatles bandmate John Lennon, who was shot outside of his apartment on December 8, 1980. Speaking out as he marched, he said “One of my best friends was killed in gun violence right around here,”.
Other celebrities in Aattendance in the city were Lady Gaga and Cynthia Nixon, who announced she is running for governor of New York last week. “Incredibly moved at how many people came out today to stake a stand for our kids and demand action against gun violence,” Nixon tweeted.
